This just spotted near Glooncy’s: a hearse being towed for parking in Valencia’s noble center lane. It was probably the do-gooders at Teen Challenge (behind) who called the tow truck.

Alice hopes they had time to get the body out.

Actually, the real story behind this photo is that the tire blew out on the freeway returning from a funeral. Somehow it picked up two nails in passenger rear tire.

Hi. I’d like to make this a private comment, if possible. I stumbled upon your blog thanks to Google. I actually work for this funeral home, and I rather not remember the day that Mel had my baby towed. The funeral home had the car towed from the middle of 280. It turns out that some how the hearse picked up two nails in the rear tire at the cemetery causing it blow out on the freeway. We had it towed to a tire shop in Daly City to have the new tire installed.
I’m not sure how much you know about Teen Challenge, but it’s a Christian-faith based drug and alcohol rehab program. We have a very friendly relationship with them, the would never have us towed. Most of they people are young men ages 19-28 or so and they’re always willing to help us move our heavy furniture for the price of just a few pizzas and sodas.

Do you have an editor? Do you check your stories? I’ve the impression the answer to both is NO. The place you reference is Clooney’s, and the story is not at all what you indicated. Check your sarcasm at the door. Teen Challenge is a great organization doing good for people in need of a fresh start.
